The opinion “Primary immunodeficiencies: a decade of progress and a promising future” developed by ten leading experts on behalf of the World PI Week is now available in Frontiers in Immunology.
This piece reflects on the many successes and achievements in the field of primary immunodeficiency to date, future advances and unmet needs.
It provides insights on the learnings from COVID-19, the implications and impact on patients and “how to build back better”.
Co-authors highlights how the COVID-19 has paradoxically helped increase awareness of these genetic, hereditary defects of the immune system and how multidisciplinary collaboration has taken on an even greater significance.
